I watched with interest as this event developed.
It had the new smell & feel of a cooking hot dog on a Bar-B-Q with them building the fire higher.
With McCain standing by to put the fork in when it’s done type affair.
This being out of character for McCain was the first hint.
Remember character being the sum of people & events you come in contact with & your common reaction to them. Couple to this things you learn that you walk away with.
This being said few would disagree that McCain has issues with changing stands related to the group he’s addressing at the time.
This having created problems for him in the world of current technology Aka U tube. So it was out of character for him to want to go head to head.
Being Obama has more money raised looked as a way of trying to tie him down to points of locations to keep Obama out of areas he doesn’t have the money to campaign those he feels already locked up.
This being risk that might not out weigh the gains that being McCain not willing to answer questions or coming off worse comes into play.
So as I watched & noted things in the news. Such as Obama rejects
McCain's proposal on "town hall" meetings

U.S. presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama & his Republican rival John McCain failed in reaching an agreement on Friday to hold ten "town hall"-style meetings where they are supposed to answer questions directly from a small audiences.
Note here “to hold ten "town hall"-style meetings where they are supposed to answer questions directly from a small audiences”
According to McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis, Obama's team only agreed to participate 1 town hall meeting before the Democratic national convention in late August.
At this point it was already agreed upon.
According to McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis, Obama's team only agreed to participate 1 town hall meeting before the Democratic national convention in late August.
The Arizona Sen. suggested shortly after Obama clinched nomination last week to hold 10 joint town hall meetings with Obama at locations that both teams agree to, starting with the one in New York City on June 12.
Every meeting would involve an audience of about 200 to 400 people who are selected by an independent poll body, and last around 60 to 90 minutes, according to McCain's proposal.
Reporters where told on Tuesday that it's not realistic for him to attend 10 town hall meetings while doing other campaign activities.
Senior strategist David Plouffe said on Friday his candidate had offered to meet McCain five times between now & the election day in November instead, including 3 debates, a joint town hall on economy in July and an in-depth debate on foreign policy in August, which, however, was refused by McCain's team.
Note here was refused by McCains Team " McCains doing the refusing."
"That package of 5 engagements would have been the most of any presidential campaign in the modern era -- offering a broad range of formats & representing a historic commitment to openness and transparency,"
"It's disappointing that Sen. McCain & his campaign decided to decline this proposal. Apparently they would rather contrive a political issue than foster a genuine discussion about the future of our country,"
McCain said during a news conference in Pemberton, New Jersey, he would leave it to American people to decide "which is the preferable proposal."

Obama, McCain squabble over town hall faceoffs

Than this came out Note the date & title of the article.
Squabbled on Friday over terms for a series of face-to-face town hall meetings and each side blamed the other for an inability to reach an accord.

Squabbled on Friday over terms for a series of face-to-face town hall meetings and each side blamed the other for an inability to reach an accord.
Democrat Obama & Republican McCain, opponents in the November election, also bickered over ways to salvage Social Security, the U.S. government retirement system for seniors that is at risk of going broke in the decades ahead.
McCain, 71, quickly accepted & accused Obama, 46, of rejecting his offer from two weeks ago to hold 10 face-to-face encounters, one a week, throughout the summer.
Note here: Obama did not reject to them just the number & timing of them.
McCain prefers a town hall format over speeches, during which he has been known to mangle his lines. At town halls the public asks questions rather than journalists. Earlier, McCain helped his once-foundering campaign by staging 100 of them.
This seems to back up my observation.
Which brings us to the current event & brings the answer as to why these events where set into motion.
The offer of McCain to ride together was to be seen as away of showing 1 his efforts to save money 2 away of countering his past events of anger under pressure.
Than the knock out blow.
“ McCain's so called town halls are actually rallies hosted by the local Republican Party. The host, Chris Myers, identified himself as a local leader and claimed that New Jersey is going to go red because of the 2000 people in the gym.
(About 1% of us were Obama supporters, someone held a sign up at the end, no one interrupted McCain's speech.)
However if McCain can't fill a small gym in his only trip to New Jersey this month, his candidacy is in trouble.
The seating was staged. There were about 20 people with Veteran's hats and all were seated directly in line with McCain's podium in the front and back.
Your cameras from home would make it appear that half the people there were veterans.
In reality it was about 1%. Mixed into the Veterans was one angry woman who had a sign claiming she was a Hillary supporter voting McCain.
This one sign was placed directly in the spot where the cameras were most likely to pick it up. She was planted there.
It also appears that there was one singular woman who pulled the same stunt Thursday night at the so called Fox News McCain town hall meeting in New York.
These people aren't real Clinton supporters, this too is staged. The event began with the Pledge of
Allegiance and an invocation. In a multicultural country, an invocation is kind of creepy. The latter is not exactly inclusive but it appeared that all cameras were directed off during the invocation so that this non inclusive invocation could not be shown “
After this being said by McCain during a news conference in Pemberton, New Jersey, I would leave it to American people to decide "which is the preferable proposal."
Is following the same tactics as The Bush administration.
Put out only the information you want the public to know to bring about the desired effect to their agenda.
Than if can’t win by the rules change the play book.
Followed by control the event so there are know risk that might out weigh the gains.
John McCain Town Hall @ Ryman Auditorium
Some points:
They are making & sending weapons that are killing brave young Americans.
Though its clear vets are dying as to the cause might be they have to few pieces of equipment such as body armor or protected humv’s
Is this the same Intel that got us into the war in the first place?
Is this why our troops don’t have the needed equipment to protect from these devices.
Is this why our troops don’t have the needed equipment to protect from these devices.
I will not sit down only after they renounce their views. Why would they see any reason to come to the table & talk?
As to the success to the troop surge walking down a street covered in body armor & with about 20-30 troops being consider safe or different from the start of the war.
Why should Sen. Obama listen to one source than those troops on the ground and that is in plan view of his own eyes of McCain walking down A safe street in body armor and surrounded by troops ?
Today is the 876 days since Sen. Obama has been in country he’s not listening to General David Poitras according to the facts on the ground. I wonder why?
It’s hard to believe anyone would question that water boarding is not torture either.

But he hates war yet sees are troops over there from 40 to 100 years .
Is this the same town hall meetings free of distractions McCain was talking about?
Behind McCain's Town Hall Campaign

To look closer at what’s being said here.
To look closer at what’s being said here.
Surround Barack Obama by an arena of 20,000 supporters, or a city center with twice as many, and it doesn't so much matter what he says. The sheer spectacle speaks for itself—something new is happening, and a whole lot of people are passionate about being a part of it.
To points it’s being compared that his speech’s or meetings if you will are the same as McCain’s toward all the hoopla.
Difference is the crowds not his campaign team’s making. Yes it is spectacle something new is happening.
McCain’s appearances can still leave empty seats and relatively subdued crowds even in a high school gymnasium.
McCain’s appearances can still leave empty seats and relatively subdued crowds even in a high school gymnasium.
I would agree that McCain is most at home in the "town hall meeting," a place where one can have control over the risks compared to the gains.
But as to a modern twist on the old New England civic institution, where neighbors would gather to participate in pure democracy.
That’s another story that’s about as far from a small town meeting of old can get And little resemblance to in pure democracy where one can have their questions answered the same way twice..
